How do I compress CD music stored on PC to STORE on disc for later burning?
I have tons of CD music stored on my computer. I want to compress it, then save it on a disc, so I can burn them at a later date. I want the easiest way to compress to disc for storage… then to easily, “decompress I guess is the word”…so I can burn to a disc to listen to later. The simplest way would be appreciated. Thanks Very Much!
It depends on how the music is currently stored. If you just “ripped the CD” and stored the music as MP3′s, then simply use a CD/DVD burning program to burn a disc. I’d suggest burning them to DVD, since that will reduce the # of discs involved. You can then retrieve them at some point & put them on your computer.
If you didn’t convert the music to MP3 or another format, get a program that can use the FLAC (a lossless compression for music) codec. AShampoo makes one. Convert the music to FLAC, then burn the discs as I said above.
