Does itunes sell music which can be played on other music devices such as MP3s, rather than Ipods?
The itunes site sell music encripted using the ACC compression not the MP3 format the most of the rest of the world uses, however the itunes software will convert MP3′s to ACC so that they can be played on an ipod.
However if you download SWITCH (free from here);-

You can convert all of you ACC files to any of the other popular compression codecs
