What is the best $1000 receiver not for home theatre?
I’m willing to spend 1000 clams on a receiver and all i need it do is give life to some old 1969 bose 901 speakers and run my music hall turntable and denon cd player. I dont need a home theatre anything. just a nice two channel receiver. am happy to get amp and tuner separetly if anyone thinks that is best bet. thanks for help
That budget probably isn’t quite enough to go with a nice separate amp, preamp and tuner. You should be able to get a reasonably awesome stereo receiver for considerably less though.
I’d probably be looking at the Outlaw Audio RR-2150 in the “budget audiophile” catagory. Although, Harman Kardon makes a pretty beefy and warm sounding stereo receiver that may sound just as nice for less. I never had a chance to compare the two…

Harman Audio sells a lot of refurbs on eBay with a full warranty. You may be able to pick this or something similar up for considerably less that way. I do occasionally see the stereo receivers listed. They sometimes list the retail price and take offers. You could offer maybe 1/2 to 3/4 the Amazon price and see what happens…
