In recent years modern composes have tried to mingle Raga music, which used to be exclusively for the elite – with bhajans or kirtans, thereby democratizing the tradition. Followers of the Bhakti movement find chanting bhajans and kirtans to be soothing for the soul and find it far more accessible for people to use in their everyday life. Many Hindu’s have found that singing God’s praise in the form of bhajans and kirtans can be self-fulfilling. Few have even tried implementing different musical instruments such as guitars to bring about some change in the way a bhajan is sung.
Learning to Compose Songs over the Keyboard
There are a number of ways available for you to write songs, and it most certainly does not have to be an effort from a professional. Well, I can say so because I have had the opportunity of experiencing this myself. I was really fond of playing the piano and guitars and that’s how the song words came to me. I have developed a skill for thinking up song words while I play.
If this experience appeals to you, then you can most certainly give this a shot. Get yourself a mini keyboard and lure your mind into a library of song words; and, Voila! You’ve come up with moving lyrics. Here is a thought; try sticking to the C key. This key has very easy chords that are quite easy to play.
Another possibility of writing up beautiful lyrics could be to utilize the default beats on the keyboard; just put them on and let it trigger your mind for the most beautiful words of a song. Keywords are bubbling with such beats and you can very well, make use of them.
A piece of advice as we move on, do not use a single finger while playing; you are most likely to forget the note you just played.
Why Guitars Are Best Suited to Song Composition
I’ve gained that skill with guitars, which is why I prefer writing songs while I’m at it. Even if it’s something entirely new for the player, he’ll still find it a very convenient tool for writing songs. No, I’m not boasting about it; I just want all those risk aversive individuals to give it a shot. You never know what you might just create.
If you really want the song to flow out then make use of the guitar riffs and off beats. You can work it out best if you have mastered the instrument you’re playing. You will never find difficulty while composing songs, ever again. In a nutshell, you can produce the best song, commercially, if you’ve got the good beat and soothing chords.
What Lyrics Do
Not everybody has the “thing” to write songs, no matter what they think. This is the part where I should set the two things apart; poetry and lyrics. People have actually used the two terms interchangeably which is not quite right. Song lyrics do not have to sound good all the time but it is important that they contain meanings.
These lyrics trigger feelings within one by rhyming all the while.
